You can now choose to make your VoipBuster calls via your Windows Mobile phone with the Smart Dialing Cab client. This program enables you to make cheap calls from your Windows Mobile phone.

Getting started

1. Copy the CAB file to your windows mobile phone
2. Execute the CAB file on your windows mobile phone to start installing
3. After installation enter your username/password and mobilenumber.
4. Enable data connections through WIFI or your mobile operator.
5. On the "Your today screen" a new icon will be added. By tapping the phone icon your current credit will be updated. If you do not have an account yet, you can click here to create a new account.

How to send SMS

In the main contact screen or in the contact summary screen one or more menu items are added. One of them is named "Send text message using SmartDialing". When selecting that menu item you enter the sms creating part, from where you can send an sms. When you have received an Sms/Text message and you open it for reading it's content, in the menu there is an option added "Reply using SmartDialing". By selecting this option you are offered to reply using the Sms/Text capabilities of your account.

Availability of the smartdialing service

Smartdialing is available in a limited number of countries. Currently UK, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland and the Netherlands are supported. You can use the smartdialing service if you have bought or own a sim in the named countries and are currently connected on the local network. Smartdialing will detect roaming conditions and will not interfere with calling in that situation.

How to make cheap calls thru smartdialing

Assuming that you have left the automatic mode on and have provided the correct mobile number, you can start to use smartdialing. If you dial a number that points to a number that is not a local number to your mobile, smartdialing will kick in. You will notice the call gets disconnected. Than after a few seconds the call is re-initiated using a localnumber. The original destination will be reached thru this localnumber. This way you will be charged for a local call from your operator and will get charged for the foreign destination thru your account. The latter meaning in many cases no charge at all or at least a lot cheaper than the roaming tariff.

How does smartdialing work

The smartdialing service analyses all outgoing calls, if it detects that a foreign number is dialed it disconnects the call. It than starts to bring up a dataconnection if this is not already present. It than connects to our backoffice servers and negotiates a number that is local to your operator information. It also sends the mobilenumber (you have configured) of your phone. When a correct response has been received it sets up a call to the received local number. Note that only a small amount of datatraffic is involved so the cost of that will be close to nothing. Our switches receive the call to the local number and together with the number of the mobile it retrieves the wanted destination which it had just received a few seconds ago. It than forwards the inbound call to the supplied foreign destination. In this scenario it is extremely important that you configure your mobile number correctly, otherwise our switches are not able to match the request and will not setup the call. In the event that datacom is not possible you are offered to make the call thru your operator.

Changing settings

In the programs section select "SmartDialing". You can tap that icon to change your account information. To make calls using your normal mobile operator please ensure to deselect the "Auto SmartDialing" option. Once deselected, you can still use the SmartDialer on a call-by-call basis. To do this select the foreign contact you wish to call, go to options and select "Call using SmartDialing".
